The reply is drafted.
You press send.
An assistant drafts a checked reply to your customers' enquiries. You read it, then send it from your own email.
What arrives in your email
Straight away
New enquiry: Jess, Do you sell gift vouchers?
A minute or two later
Suggested reply ready: Do you sell gift vouchers?, Jess
Or, if it cannot help
This one’s yours: Do you sell gift vouchers?, Jess
The subject lines are the ones the service writes. Jess and her question are an example.
How it works
Three steps, and only one is yours
01
A customer asks
They type their question on your own one-screen page, or email you as usual and your enquiries address forwards us a copy.
02
You get it, then a suggested reply
The enquiry reaches your email straight away. If the assistant can help, a suggested reply follows in a minute or two. If not, a short note says this one is yours, and why. Spam gets nothing.
03
You press send, from your own email
One button opens the reply in your own mail app, addressed to the customer. A long reply opens a page with a copy button instead. Send it as it is, or edit it first.
Its limits
It never sends anything to your customers. It has no way to.
It is told not to quote a price, promise stock or name a date you have not given it. Code then checks each draft for dollar figures, discounts and days or dates that are not on your sheet, promises to hold or set something aside for you, claims an order was placed, and phrases ruled out for your business. A draft that fails comes to you as “this one’s yours”.
It can still be wrong. Anything phrased another way can get through the checks, which is why you read every reply before it goes, and why what you send is yours.
It never pretends to be a person. Each suggested reply ends by saying an assistant helped write it and you read it before it went.
It does not read your inbox. It sees only the enquiries sent through your page and any emails you forward to it. It takes no bookings or payments.
What it costs
Free for 30 days. Then you decide.
The first 30 days
Free
No card and no payment details. Nothing is charged before or during the trial. One free trial per business.
Keep it
$500 setup, then $99 a month
Your first invoice, on day 31, is $599: the setup once, and the first month. No lock-in.
Keep it, with a new Ellipse website
$250 setup, then $79 a month
When Ellipse Studio also builds your new website, for as long as that site stays with us. If it moves, the monthly fee is $99 from your next invoice.
Before day 30 we talk. If you want to keep it, tell us by email or text. If you do not, it switches off at the end of day 30, with nothing to cancel and nothing to pay.
On day 31 we send a Stripe payment link for the first invoice. Paying it saves your card with Stripe, and each later month is charged to that card. Stripe holds your card details; we never do.
The setup pays for work already done, so it is not refunded if you end later. If we end the service within 3 months of your first invoice, for any reason other than misuse of your page or an unpaid fee, we refund it.
Either of us can end it at any time, by email. It stops at the end of the month already paid for. No exit fee and no minimum term.
One round of changes to your answers each month is included. A second round is $75. Other extras are quoted and agreed in writing first, and never charged unless you agree.
All prices are in Australian dollars. Ellipse Studio is not registered for GST, so no GST is charged. If that changes, we give you 30 days’ written notice before any GST is added.
Before you start
We count your enquiries first
Count your enquiries for a week. If you get fewer than about three a week, we will tell you it is not worth your money, rather than sell you a subscription. If it is, here is what we need from you.
Sign off your knowledge sheet
We build it from your website and what you tell us: your products, prices, hours and policies. It is everything the assistant is given about your business, and it is told not to answer beyond it.
Put the link where customers find you
The link or QR code goes on your counter, your website, your Google listing or your email signature.
Tell us when something changes
A price, your hours, a new product. Send it in one message and it is live within 2 working days, with the changed lines sent to you to check.
Your data
In plain words
- What it holds
- What your customer types (name, email, phone if they give it, and message), which link they used and when, plus the suggested reply and a record of each step and check.
- How long
- We delete each enquiry once it is 30 days old. Weekly numbers are counts only, with no names. Emails in your own inbox are yours.
- Who handles it
- Suggested replies are drafted by Claude, from Anthropic. Resend delivers the emails to you and keeps copies for up to 30 days. Netlify hosts the page and the records. All three are overseas, mainly in the United States.
- Training
- It is not used to train AI models. Anthropic’s commercial terms do not allow it, and we do not do it either.
- Sensitive details
- Please do not ask customers to send tax file numbers, bank details or health records through the page. A filter can take out some, but it can miss others.
The full detail is in the Ellipse Reply section of our privacy page.
Questions
Asked before you try it
Does Ellipse Reply ever answer my customers by itself?
No. It only suggests. It does not send email to your customers and has no way to: the system only ever emails you, and a reply goes to your customer only when you send it from your own email.
What happens at day 30?
Before day 30 we talk. If you tell us you want to keep it, the setup and the first month go on one invoice on day 31. If you do not, it switches off at the end of day 30 and you pay nothing.
Can I have a second free trial?
The free trial is once per business. If you come back after it, the fees apply from the day your page goes live again. If you paid the setup and restart within 90 days of ending, the setup is not charged again.
Is there a limit on enquiries?
To keep costs predictable, your page has a daily limit on enquiries and daily and monthly limits on AI use, which we tell you at sign-off. If an AI limit is reached, the enquiry still reaches you, without a suggestion. The fee covers the AI and email costs, so there are no usage charges.
What if a suggestion is wrong?
Do not send it, and tell us, so we can fix the cause. A suggested reply can be incomplete, out of date or simply wrong, even after the checks, which is why you read each one first.
